A Little About Us...

 



​M&M is the proud publisher of economics curriculum units for children.  Our products have been designed to meet the National Content Standards in Economics and have been extensively tested in the classroom.  Activities are innovative and offer opportunities for hands-on, experimental learning. Instructions are clear and concise, with step-by-step instructions and background content that is provided for teachers.  M&M products have been adopted for use across the country in school systems, college and university centers for economic education, and undergraduate instruction in economic methods.  

About the Authors:

Dr. Melanie Marks & Dr. Cyndee Perdue Moore

 

Dr. Melanie Marks received her Ph.D. in economics from Texas A&M University, and is currently a Professor of Economics at Longwood University in Virginia. She also has served as Director of the Longwood Center for Economic Education since 1996, designing and delivering programs to over 250 teachers a year. Dr. Marks is also a curriculum writer/consultant for the Buck Institute on Education in Novato, California.

Before becoming a higher education administrator, Dr. Cyndee Perdue Moore was an economics lecturer at Longwood University, taught research, economics, and international studies at two of Virginia’s top-ranked Governor’s Schools, and spent 11 years as an elementary school teacher. During her classroom years, she also worked as the Senior Programs Specialist at the Longwood Center for Economic Education and was named Virginia Council Economic Educator of the Year two years in a row. Dr. Moore has worked as an adjunct instructor of economic education for Longwood University and is the recipient of numerous awards for writing, layout, and design from the Virginia Press Association, the Virginia Press Women's Association, and the National Federation of Press Women. She holds both a Bachelor's and Master's from the University of Virginia and a doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University.
